A positive update

Hello friends,

Thank you all for your well wishes.

I had major surgery a week ago and am slowly working on being better.
Time will tell whether the operation (surrenalectomy) will have entirely cured what was wreaking havoc on my system, but we are very hopeful.

The past few months - feeling increasingly unwell and so very exhausted, spending so much time having tests done and appointments at the hospital - have been gruelling. Being separated from my little girl to stay at the hospital last week - and not being allowed to breastfeed her for a few days due to a highly uncooperative medical team - has been the hardest thing I've ever had to go through.

Seb deserves a medal for Best Father and Companion of the Year.

I keep telling myself that this is a thousand times better than if my baby had had problems. That I am so grateful for her own health. That there is a very good chance I'll be entirely cured.

I'll be away for a while longer, though I might update my Flickr account and perhaps even add a few posts here, with pictures and just a few words. That may well be my usual format from now on, anyway. Things like that, they make you reconsider your priorities.

For now, I am off to rest and enjoy my beautiful, happy, healthy, and adorable baby.

I'm glad to see a post from you, Isabelle, I was just thinking about you this week and wondering if all was well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the operation was a complete success and that you make a complete recovery

Your little girl is so sweet - I can't believe she's 5 months already! Such beautiful blue eyes she has :) Take care and look after yourself xx

Keep up the good work in recovery. I can imagine what a nightmare it was to not bf your 5mo girl during several days in the hospital. Incredibly frustrating doesn't even touch it. BTW if you have any speedbumps with going back to the breast there's Kellymom resources and the La Leache League International forum--the LLLadies there helped me immeasurably.

Oh my, I wish you the best of health. Your daughter is beautiful! After I had my 4th (and last!) baby I had to have my gallbladder removed, so I know how it is to not be able to breastfeed and to hurt too much to lift the baby as well.

I wish you the best.

With love,
Heather

Thank you for updating. I have been sending prayers for you. I think of you when I am knitting. Yesterday in a shop I saw a dress that was same fabric as your "Monique Dress" and it made me think of you, so I also sent up a little prayer for you.

Baby is beautiful! She will be so happy to have her mama healing now and close to her.

God Bless you!

Caresses aussi à Little Miss Fluffy !
