A double anniversary this month

Two years ago, I used a sewing machine for the first time in my life... I never looked back.
Two years ago, I also started this blog... I never looked back either!

Within the same month I developed a passion and discovered a wonderful community, both of which have enabled me to build a more balanced lifestyle.

I want to thank you all for your continued friendship, for your support in hard times, for your comments and emails that have felt like so many smiles and hugs over the months. I have formed precious friendships and met wonderful people who have made me want to grow a better person. True, I also lost a friend or two without knowing why, and it hurt. Despite that, my life has changed for the better and I am so grateful for the friends I have come to make online. I hope you're all ready for this adventure to go on

Those flowers from the Alps are for you...

Thank you for being here!

Hello friends :)

Friends, hello! Our Internet is back... I missed you!

We spent two lovely weeks of holidays - 15 days of superb weather and incredible heat. We rested at the seaside during the first week, and hiked in the Vercors natural park during the second. Just what we both needed.

Here are a few pictures...

Sète, le cimetière marin (seaside cemetery, celebrated by poets Valéry and Brassens)

Here are pictures from Vercors ; we went back to the same village where we'd stayed for cross-country skiing in January 2005. Something tells me this is not the last time we're going...

We walked a good 100 kms during that second week... It's not that much, considering that Seb and I are both hiking maniacs, but I got Achilles tendinitis and had to be careful.

I haven't stitched or sewn much since June - the heat didn't encourage me to stitch much during our holidays; and when we came back to a hot, stuffy Paris on Saturday 15, my supervisor told me about a very interesting project with a very close application deadline - so I've been almost exclusively working on that since then. This is why I probably won't be very talkative for a while... This is just a project for the time being, since it still has to be approved by the powers that be - so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I did stitch a needleroll design last week for the exchange I'm moderating on The Robin's Nest (you'll see it in September). During the holidays I also started a design from the Mains et Merveilles free-style embroidery issue, and I stitched a giftie for a friend - which shall have to wait till September as well...

That's all folks! I missed you... Take care!
