Zoanna sent me some great news!
Hi friends! I told you Monday that Zoanna had received the first batch of 40 bags for Katrina evacuees, at long last. Now, lo and behold! The very next day she received the second box, which was twice as big, with 86 bags! Wow! What a relief and what a joy. Zoanna is now very busy finding sponsors to buy the toiletries for each bag, and filling the bags before sending them to Texas. She is so organized and devotes a lot of time to this, in spite of her other obligations and duties! Wow. Bless you Zo!
The seamstresses in France are so excited and are already asking for pictures!
Well that was my good news!

I read about the other bags coming in on 25 Things for Charity. So glad they arrived! What a wonderful joint effort these bags have been!!
That is wonderful news to start the day off Isabelle. I have yet to send the fabrics I promised Zoanna. All the work in the house is driving me crazy.
Isabelle, would you please have Zoanna contact me? I have a box of toiletries that I can send to her to fill a few bags!
My email is sewunicorn at yahoo dot com
SO glad to hear that the second bag turned up hun.
Hugs xxxxxxx
Isabelle, you are so kind. I am not THAT organized. In fact, for Christmas I have on my wish list "sewing room organization."
But I am enjoying everything about this project, mess or not! Seeing people pick bags is so much fun. Filling them is fun for me, and taking them to FedEx, and of course, shopping for more fabric. Whooee!
Sashi, thanks again for your intentions to send fabric. Whenever you can. I heard from my sister that FEMA aid (Federal) runs out Jan 7th so there will be a new wave of needs.
Jenn, I emailed you as soon as Isabelle emailed me. I hadn't checked this blog first, so I didn't know your name. Bless you for your generous offer.I'll take you up on it. Are you in the US?
Barbara, I was thinking about your nursing home goodie bags. I wish I had time to do that this year!!
Wow, what a wonderful response - I've spent the last 2 1/2 years living with some very selfish and 'different' personalities ... it really 'lifts my heart' for want of a better word to hear about good deeds and kind-hearted people doing such selfless things :)) I think maybe in 2006 I need to find something locally that I can assist with too ...
that is good news! we have to share good news with the world! our paper does that on our 'thanksgiving'day: a special piece filled with good news!
have a nice day
