Purr-fick update

Here is how Purr-fick looks right now. I intended to post a pic yesterday but thought it was getting too dark to take the photo...
You can take a closer look by clicking on the photo. I'm afraid you can't see much on this one, especially as the strands are so close in color to the fabric.
Well - at least his ears are cute, aren't they?

Stitching Bloggers QOTW

Stitching Blogger's Question of the Week

"Would you consider yourself 'addicted to stitching'? Why or why not?"

This is a first for me... I love the idea of sharing one's stitching experiences through a question a week, and I love this week's question as this is a perfect opportunity to try and explain the philosophy behind my blog.

For me, stitching (cross-stitch or sewing) is an essential component towards a balanced lifestyle. So I would say that I do need it to feel really great - "Sitching is Soothing"! I do try not to make it an addiction - otherwise it would have the reverse effect... But I'm not sure I'm always succeeding. I need to always have a project going... I realized as much when I was moving into my new flat a few weeks ago and had to do without stitching as I didn't have my material at hand - I was honestly beginning to suffer from withdrawal symptoms!

Stitching Project started !

Purr-fick ~ Margaret Sherry's design
(Heritage Stitchcraft Kit)

This is not my own stitching, but the photo of the kit's cover! ;o) I just started it today. Very motivated as it is just adorable - and I want to dress up my new flat with several of these cuties!

~ Why this blog? ~

Hi all!

First, I must confess, I'm totally new to blogging. Until last week I hadn't even really got into what a "blog" could be...
Then while finding some cross-stitch designs on the Internet, I came across this. Great blog isn't it? Only then did I realize that creating a blog, and reading others', was a great opportunity to share one's passions and make friends, to get inspired and (hope to) inspire others... So, thank you Angelsan, you opened a whole new world to me.

Today is my first real day of vacation. I've just spent a year teaching in the US and over the last two months was busy finding a Phd topic (and supervisor) and a flat in Paris (no small endeavour, trust me!), and moving into my new flat. Today I went back to my parents' home for a month's vacation. Now I can really get some stitching done!!!
